Grandma came!!

My grandma came to visit this weekend. 

It was SO fun. 

I love to sit on her lap and have her pet me and scratch me.

I miss her already. 

A lot.

Happy birthday, Dad!!

It was my dad's birthday this week.  He is 27.  That is old!  I am only 3. 

Mom worked really hard and installed a new shower head for him. 

He really liked it... but I hate it.  Mom thought it was so nice, she decided to try it out on me. 

Bath time is the worst.  People seem to pet me a lot more, though, so I guess it's ok.

And Dad was happy I was fluffy and clean. 

Anything to keep Dad happy!

Talking Box

Much of my view from the sofa consists of this talking box.  My mom has it on pretty much all day because she hates to be alone and hates the quiet.  So it's either the talking box, or the music box, or something noisy.  Luckily, I'm a pro at sleeping through the noise.

Mom and I do have some favorite talking box shows, brought to us by Netflix.  (She knows I'm a sucker for a handsome man... or any man, really, and these shows don't disappoint!)

Merlin.  So good.  We started watching the second season from Angie's suggestion.  Well, I don't think there could be a more handsome Lancelot in the whole world (unless they cast my dad, of course) and Arthur isn't bad, either.  And I think Merlin and I would be good friends.  I think he needs me as a sidekick.  I look really great on camera.  Just saying.

Warehouse 13.  Pretty great show from the folks at Syfy.  Mom and I watch it a lot and can't wait for season 3 to be put on Netflix. 

The Elephant Princess.  This little Aussie import is a lot of fun to watch, and way better than any Disney Channel show I've seen. (...minus Phineas and Ferb.  That show is brilliant.)  Mom only discovered it this week, but it's got some pretty handsome boys as well, so I'm happy as a clam watching it.  Plus, there is an elephant on the show, and I think elephants are great actors.  They should be used much more often.

Eureka.  Another great Syfy show.  We've only been watching for a few weeks, but we're already on season 2.  It's funny, has great characters, and, again, a very charming leading man.

The Event/Flashforward.  Two great shows, cut down before their time!  Enjoyed them immensely.

Psych.  Mom still thinks it's the best show on the box.  It is the only show she'll watch episodes of multiple times.  I don't complain, because it is a pretty fabulous show.

Stargate Atlantis.  I love John Shepherd.  I just do.  Mom and dad watch this one together.  

Monk.  Great for putting on in the living room while mom is in the kitchen making dinner.  She really likes to cook to Monk for some reason.

White Collar.  Neil Caffrey.  He can take me for a walk any time.  Nuff said.

Doctor Who.  Still getting into it, but David Tennant is pretty dreamy.

Christmas

Christmas was SO great.  I got to spend time with all of my family.  Sammy drives me insane, but it is fun to play with Vash at the DeBirk house.  His favorite game is to find his toy under the wrapping paper.  I usually don't join in, but this year, I couldn't help myself!

I got a huge dog from the Grandparents DeBirk, but mom and dad thought it was much too big for me, so Sasha got my big one, and I got her small one.

See?  It's as big as she is.  We surely have fun playing with it.

This one is now mine.  It's still pretty big!!

I also got a new Christmas haircut.  Mom said I really needed it.  So Sasha and I went to the groomer together.  

I'm still getting used to it.  Is the bow too much?

My other favorite present is from Angie.  She is REALLY smart at knowing just what I'd like: a portable dog bed I can take to her house!  Mom opened it and put it on the floor and this happened in about 1.6 seconds:

I knew it was mine, and I love it!

It was a crazy day.

Christmas excitement really takes it out of you!  I had to take a lot of naps.  That's my new blanket from mom and dad.  I love it.

Hi, I'm Annabelle!

Hello world!

I am so excited to tell you all about my life from the sofa.  I love comfy places to sit, and the top of the sofa is one of my favorite places.  I can do a lot from there.  I look outside at the world, watch TV, and see my mom in the kitchen.  (Since I'm small, it also puts me at an easy reach of people wanting to pet me.)  I turned 3 in August and had a big birthday party.  It was a LOT of fun.

This is my best friend, Sasha.  She's a lot bigger than I am.

My dad is going to UC Berkeley right now, getting a masters degree.  I think that's kind of funny, because he never needed a degree to be my master before!  Oh well.

I grew up in Utah, but now we live in California.  It's hard to tell which I like better.  I like Utah a lot because Sasha is in Utah, and there are doggy doors.

In California, it is warm and there are lots of dogs everywhere, and I get to go with my mom into a lot of places.  I also get to go to Angie and Jim's house, where my cat friend, Jacqui lives.  She's still getting used to me, but I love her a lot!

Being a dog is the greatest, and I'm excited to introduce you to my happy family!

These are my parents.  They are pretty nice, especially when they feed me.  I don't know what I'm looking at.

I'm a daddy's girl.  Isn't he handsome?  This is one of my favorite places.
